Abstract

The paper proposes a statistical model of physical and chemical processes in a gas mixture. Particular attention is given to relaxation of translation degrees of freedom for a mixture of argon and methane at argon temperature of 10,000 K and methane temperature of 300 K. Equilibrium values of statistical rate constants are also presented
