Working groups of the RVO project and their functions

RVO working groups are the voluntary formations bringing together specialists in different fields to study specific issues that are actual for a given stage of establishment, development and operation of the RVO. The working groups are created for a fixed period (e.g. period of a grant) and are disbanded when the task is solved. The RVO project is open for the new working groups to be included on the basis of the letter of intention from the head of relevant astronomical institution and after approval of the new working group by the RVO Council. At present RVO includes the following working groups:

• RVO data (led by O.Yu.Malkov (INASAN))

• Technologies of information infrastructure (led by L.A.Kalinichenko (IPI RAS))

• RVO services development (led by O.S.Bartunov (SAI MSU))

• Observational data archives (led by O.P.Zhelenkova (SAO RAS))

• The database of Russian observatories astronomical plate collection and maintenance of the General Catalogue of Variable Stars (led by N.N.Samus (INASAN, SAI MSU))

• The database of Zvenigorod observatory astronomical plate collection (led by S.V.Vereshchagin (INASAN))
