1. Mirrors of some well-known astronomical databases are deployed in CAD:

The NASA Astrophysics Data System (ADS)

The most complete database of astronomical publications provides access to the papers published in a number of astronomical journals.

VizieR (Russian mirror)

The mirror of the CDS database of astronomical catalogues. The database provides access to the most complete library of published astronomical catalogues.

IUE Newly Extracted Spectra (INES) database
The INES archive contains more than  104000 spectra for  9600 astronomical objects, obtained during the IUE mission.
Vienna Atomic Line Database (VALD)
The Vienna Atomic Line Database (VALD) is a collection of atomic line parameters of astronomical interest and provides tools for selecting subsets of lines for typical astrophysical applications: line identification, chemical composition and radial velocity measurements, model atmosphere calculations etc.

2. CAD has the catalogue fund on CDROMs

3. CAD offers the following services:

  • search of objects in catalogues and databases

  • extracts samples from SIMBAD database, from CDS fond of catalogues,from other databases;

  • copying of catalogues.

4. CAD carries out processing and testing of catalogues and tables published in Russian astronomical journals and provides  Centre de Donnees Stellaire with them.

5. Large astronomical catalogues and surveys are analysed in the Centre for Astronomical Data. In particular:

  • Guide Star Catalog family, PPM and USNO-A family retrieval software is constructed,

  • algorithms for catalogues' object classification are proposed,

  • Galaxy models are tested after partial cross-identification of the GSC with NASA/IPAC Extragalactic Database (NED);

  • information on world Internet resources of astronomical data is being collected and expert evaluations are made for large astronomical catalogues and surveys;

  • new high proper motion objects are discovered on the basis of the APM survey analysis;

  • schemes for designation of binaries are proposed and applied to large binary stars data resources;

  • catalogues of binaries are analysed for search of non-coeval MS-binaries;

  • Mira-like stars kinematics catalogue is constructed based on various astrometric catalogues and GCVS data.

  • a synthetic model of interstellar extinction based on catalogues data of various types of objects is constructed;
